I love to use small side tables when accessorizing a room for many different reasons. First of all, its convenient to set things on (ie magazines, drinks, channel changer etc.). Second, it helps to anchor a space and create seating arrangements away from your sofa and coffee table combination. By placing 2 chairs and a small drinks table in a corner, you instantly create another area where people can gather.

Antique reproduction column sidetable with antiqued mirror top. This is a perfect table to place between two chairs as a drinks table beause of its height and scale. I also love that it's not your typical 4 legged table.




This Tree Stump by Ironies functions fabulously between these chairs, bringing in an organic element to warm up the space.

Another favorite for its style and scale. This resin covered sidetable by Oly would dress up any pair of chairs.


This picture from Elle Decor shows how they've created a seating area by using two tub chairs with Moroccan themed side-tables mirroring each other. Rather than placing a lower table between the two chairs, the designer chose to give each person their own little table. I think its a great spin on a typical seating arrangement.

Its also worth mentioning that because of the heat, stain and scratch resistant composition this is very low maintenance. Who doesn't love that!










Embedded objects: Fossils, colored glass, metal flakes, semiprecious stones, and special mementoes are finding their way into custom-fabricated countertops, most often in counters that have even color tone throughout, like concrete, engineered stone, or solid surface. Once the objects are embedded, the surfaces are finely ground to reveal hints of the treasures within.

When using concrete you can customize the color and also you can create a sink that is all one with the countertop in any size or shape you desire. There are soooo many possibilities with concrete.






This is an interesting way of using concrete. I think the edge detail is unique.










Copper is increasingly finding a place in the kitchen. While it’s not mainstream, copper does have its appeal for those who enjoy having something unusual.

A positive of having a copper countertop besides it looking great is that it is antibacterial and easy clean up with soap and water.

The Wonders of Wallpaper

Wallpaper has the ability to transform the whole character of a room. Whether you use a simple stripe, a complicated damask, or a floral pattern, wallpaper can be the perfect canvas to define your space.
